MIN @ DET – Week 7

I’m basing this pick on 3 things.

One. I think Detroit is ready to win. There run game is respectable, the defense is respectable, Stafford can still sling the ball, and they’ve got a coach who is used to winning. Swallowing that loss on Monday Night win had to be tough, but they showed they can win on the road and this one is at home.

Two. I don’t believe this Kirk Cousins streak. Yes, he has strung together two good game, but he’s got a history that shows us that this won’t last. I’ll argue that they came against pretty shitty defenses and low pressure offensive drives. The Lions aren’t a top five D by any means, but I expect the Lions to keep it closer and make Kirk come back to earth

Three. The Lions just need this win more. The NFC North could easily get out of hand at 2-3-1 for the Lions. Minnesota on the other hand is over that scare coming off a two-game win streak and are due for a lackluster game

The Lions should win straight up, take these points.

KC @ DET – Week 4

Detroit is all smoke and mirrors right now. They’ve won the last 2 games while being out gained yardage-wise in both.

Kyler Murray threw for 308.  Phil Rivers for 293. I can see Monday’s paper already. Patrick Mahomes throws for for 600 yards and 7 touchdowns..

If that doesn’t scream KC -6.5 & the Over, I don’t know what does. The -6.5 was a no doubter for being in the pound, & the Over just missed getting in, but the Dog still gives each of these 3 Woofs.

DET @ PHI – Week 3

Desean Jackson-hurt. Alshon Jeffrey-hurt. Nelson Agholor-hurt. Tim Jernigan-hurt. Malik Jackson-hurt. Carson Wentz took a shot last week that sent him back to the 2nd grade.  Philly is beat up right now & Lions Coach Matt Patricia chomping at the bit looking to take advantage.

Ertz can’t catch every pass for the Eagles, and their running game has been stuck in neutra so far this year.  Detroit is relatively balanced on both sides of the ball, and has looked surprisingly good for their standards this season. Matt Stafford and the Lions can and will cover this, if not come away with the outright win.

With all the Eagles injuries above and Patricia still unwilling to unleash Stafford and spice up the mild Lions offensive play-calling, The Dog won’t be eating up the Over in this flavorless dish; Taking the Under here.

Dog Pound – Week 2

Let’s face it. We’re all in a pinch and crunched for time and sometimes we gotta get in-n-outta Dodge quicker than Barney at the good ole, now defunct (pour one out) Dairyland Greyhound Race Track in the wonderful Cream State of Wisconsin.  That doesn’t mean you should cut out your weekly NFL betting intel. Stop by The Dog Pound for our 5 weekly Picks To Pound.

There’s a lot of noise out there, but these are the bets you need to pound this week. Liquidate the college fund, cash out your 401k, dig up the coin you’ve buried out back and get invested because The Dog LOVES these picks!

Week 2 is shaping up to look like a road team dream.

LAC @ DET – Week 2

No! You’re not in the Doghouse going against a home dog.

I’m taking the Chargers in this one.

Chargers bested the Colts at home last week by 6 while the Lions came away with a road draw to the Cardinals.  The Andrew Luckless Colts are a better team than they get credit for. Lions go home without much of a roar. Chargers by more than 3.

The Chargers did less travel than Detroit for this Road game. Figure that one out.

I don’t see either of these teams putting up points like they did in years past. Go in your junk drawer, find your Men In Black Neuralyzer, and wipe those memories of high scoring offenses.
